What’s your ideal start to a Sunday?
Going out to meet friends for brunch is the best. I enjoy trying new places I've discovered on Instagram or going to a local mom and pop restaurant for eggs and pancakes. Afterwards, we take a walk to digest and connect with nature. One of my favorite spots is Parc de la Promenade-Bellerive because it has a beautiful walking path along the river.
Sundays are my reset days, which usually includes a trip to the farmer's market, meal prepping, and a bit of cleaning around the house. I then plan my week in my paper agenda, water the plants, and do some laundry. After dinner, I take a long shower and settle in to watch Survivor Quebec and Succession - without any distractions from my phone or iPad.
Your current TV/Podcast/Blog or book obsession.
I am a huge Hasan Abi head on Twitch. He (Hasan Piker) is a political and « just chatting » streamer who is online for 7 to 10 hours, everyday. He covers political news, but also does funny reacts to tv shows and some gaming. His stream is like my radio. I put it on on my tv and it helps me concentrate while I work.
I also really love to listen to «Movies That Raised Us» when I am shooting recipe content. It’s a podcast created by two women and that explores formative movies that people watched when they were younger. They recap the whole movie and give funny commentaries. It has a different theme every month (right now it’s « animated April ») and it’s super funny and entertaining.
What’s your morning drink of choice? Favorite local café
I always start the day with a liter of water. I have my favorite IKEA 365+ carafe always at the ready. After that, I either make an iced latte or a cappuccino. I love creating coffee recipes for my TikTok Account, so I make the most of it by drinking my own content!
I also love to go work at Aube, a new bakery that opened near my house a few weeks ago. It’s heaven! I bring my laptop, order an iced americano with milk, and spend a few hours working. They have a great sesame bread and a crazy good ham sandwiches that they top with crispy julienne potatoes. But most of all, the vibe is just amazing. I often end up crossing some friends or chatting with friendly strangers. It feels good to get out of the house and connect with people.
How do you take care of yourself during the weekend
Basically, I listen to myself, don’t overload my schedule, and aim for a slow, fulfilling life.
Staying in touch with the people I love give me the most serotonin, so I make sure to plan some time with my favorite people. I don’t really have a strict wellness routine, but I make sure to eat nutritious food, go on walks, talk with my family, take hot baths and cold showers, and try to get enough sleep.Truth be told, I am not very good at it and go to bed too late most of the time. But I do try!
